Creating Audio CDs on the Mac from Long MP3 Classes

The Problem: Burning long MP3s on to a CD results in a single track, so if you stop in the middle on many players you either have fast forward for ever or start again from the start.

The Solution: Break the MP3 in to parts and then burn the parts to separate tracks on a CD. The Apple Script included here lets you decided how long to make each track.

  1. Download the MP3 File for the Class
  2. Open the MP3 in QuickTime Pro 5 or above
  3. Run the Apple Script SplitMP3toWaves.scpt
  4. Drag the Part?.wav files in to a new "Audio CD" for Toast or Into a new "Play List" for iTunes
  5. Burn Away!

(c) 2003-2008 All Rights Reserved - Rabbi David Botton

Distribution and Copying of materials is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED in any form including links, burning of CDs, file sharing networks, IIRC, etc. It is requested that TeachItToMe.com be clearly written on CDs or incorporated in to file names to indicate it as the source of the material whenever possible.

"How much do the MP3s cost?
Huh? If I had the money I'd pay you to listen!" - RDB
